Best Gaming Laptop 3DMark Results

These are the 3DMark results from all of my gaming laptop reviews. I have tested Fire Strike, Time Spy, and Port Royal (Ray Tracing) on all laptops below.

Testing Methodology

• Each test was only run one time, these are not averages of multiple runs. Normally I spend a lot more time running multiple tests to confirm the results and get a more accurate average. I have not bothered doing this here, because frankly, I don’t care about 3DMark results that much and instead favor actual game FPS.
• Tests were run at the time the laptop was reviewed, which tends to be one laptop a week. We install the latest Windows updates and graphics drivers at the time of testing, however this means there is the potential for some variance between these results when comparing due to driver changes.
• The highest performance mode available through the laptop’s control panel software was used with the fans maxed out for best results. All laptops had the chargers connected for best performance. If a laptop has a MUX switch, optimus was off for best results.
• No manual overclocking, undervolting or any other customized tuning has been done. Consider all results here as stock. The exception is if the laptop’s control panel software automatically applies an overclock in its highest mode, which some do.

The table below is sorted from highest to lowest Fire Strike (Overall) score by default. You can click the table headings to sort the data how you like. The newer Steel Nomad test has fewer results, as it was released after many of these laptops were available for testing.
